Plaza de Cibeles, Palacio de comunicaciones and Puerta de Alcalá
In the city center, just between Paseo del Prado and Calle Alcalá, we find one of the most photographed places in the city: Plaza de Cibeles, in the center, the statue in honor of the goddess Cybele (and where Real Madrid fans gather to celebrate its titles.)
The showiness of the square lies on its side, full of majestic buildings, like the Palacio de Comunicaciones (now Town Hall), which is worthy of a quick visit inside or, even better, the climb to the terrace where you can eat, drink coffee or enjoy the views.
We can also find the Banco de España, Palacio de Buenavista and Palacio de Linares (now Casa de América, and famous for its phantasmagoric stories), and looking up the Alcalá street, we find the recognizable Puerta that bears its name and which song we have hummed so often, the well-known song of Victor Manuel and Ana Belén.
