Plaza de España and Templo de Debod

From Palacio Real, we can walk down the Bailén street towards one of the most beautiful views of Madrid: the Templo de Debod on top of the Parque de la Montaña.
This temple is about 2,200 years old and it was brought stone by stone from Egypt as gift to our country for the assistance provided in the salvage of the temples of Nubia (which were to be buried by the creation of the Aswan Dam in the 19th century) and its interior can be visited free of charge within the established schedule, although many tourists also come to this point for the breathtaking views of Casa de Campo and Palacio Real from this hill.
We recommend you to watch the sunset from this point and to take pictures of the temple while getting the last rays of sun of the day.
From here, about a 5 minutes walk, we can find the Plaza de España, meeting point for tourists and young people to enjoy of its esplanade when the weather is nice, and at the end of the famous Gran Via street.
